Eagle and Fox Classrooms

The Eagle (Fort Collins location) and Fox (Milliken location) Classrooms are our Pre-Kindergarten Classrooms.  Children leave this classroom prepared with the academic and social skills necessary to enter kindergarten the following fall.

Children leaving this classroom are prepared well beyond the school readiness needs of the Poudre School District.  The classroom prepares children in pre-reading and writing skills, early math and number correspondence skills, and the confidence needed to ask questions and find answers to all their questions.  They work with letters and numbers on a daily basis and infuse skills into each of their learning centers and projects.  They use computers in their classrooms to explore technology, field trips to explore their community and their minds to explore themselves.  Children leaving this classroom have a good sense of their world and how they fit into it as well as a developed sense of the importance and joys of learning.

A note from Jeff

Hello and welcome to our class! I feel privileged and fortunate to be able to have a career which I love and makes a positive impact on children. I have been with Young Peoples for 10 years.  I think energy and hands on learning are the way to make a difference in how kids learn.  My background is in social work, art and music and I love bringing these talents to our classroom!

While in our class, your child will get to explore knowledge, skills and even universes that they haven’t experienced before!  We invite parents to be a big part of our daily work and really encourage them to come and share time and talents they might have!

Jeff has been with YPLC since 2001. He offers an energetic and hands on approach to teaching. He has a background in social work, art and music. He has a B.A. in Art and Computer Graphics and has recently updated his credentials in Early Childhood Education through classes at Front Range Community College.

A note from Amber

It is very rewarding working at YPLC where I can make a positive difference in children’s lives and education as well as advocating for their wellbeing.  I believe hands-on teaching allows children to grow, learn, reflect and discover through new experiences. I have been working with Young Peoples since 2002 with children ranging in the age from 18 months to 15 years old and am invested in the program as a teacher, but also as a parent because my son has been attending and learning at YPLC since he was 2 years old.

Come and introduce yourself to our classroom pet rats, Harry and Oreo! They love to get treats and attention and are very social animals.  Teaching children academic skills along with the responsibility to use those skills to make the world a better place is very important in our room.  We think it is our job to inspire and can see that pay off on a daily basis as the imaginations of children in our room take them to new places we could never have dreamed of.

Amber has been with YPLC since 2005.

She believes in hands on teaching allowing the children to grow, learn, reflect and discover through experience. She has been working in the child care field since 2002 with children ranging in the age from 18 months to 15 years old. Amber has college courses in Early Childhood Education. Her son has been attending and learning at YPLC since he was 2 years old and continues to enjoy the school age program on school days out and their awesome summer program they offer for children ages 8 to 10.
